Yes, I know, I know! I haven’t posted in such a long time. Believe me, I am really sorry and disappointed in myself. I’ve been very busy with my studies, and submitted my first assignment today, so I’m definitely less stressed than I was a few hours ago!
Yesterday I woke up (not so) bright and early and drove to Chawton with my mum to visit Jane Austen’s House Museum. Recently, I’ve been feeling quite childishly excited about things, and as we approached the village and saw those brown signs characteristic of tourist information points – well, I was feeling exactly that.
It wasn’t my first time visiting Myddleton House Gardens over the weekend, but, it was my first time walking around in the spring. The last time I went was in the middle of summer and I remember being shocked – how was it that these beautiful gardens are down the road from where I live, yet I’d never heard of them, let alone stepped foot inside?
If you have read my 2017 bucket list you will know that ‘camping’ is on it.
Well, I am happy to inform you that I spent this long Easter weekend shivering in a sleeping bag as I struggled to sleep on a slope, cringing every time I used a compost toilet and avoiding it as much as possible, and washing my thick, curly (frizz-prone) hair approximately zero times, and having no service whatsoever during the entire four days – and I absolutely enjoyed every single second of it.
So here is what I’ve been working on this past month – it’s a monthly newsletter to highlight exhibitions that are starting/ending in London and also special tours/dates.
